I love books! I try to always have a book with me where ever I go, you never know when you might have need of a good book. I only read the physical books, I don't do ebooks. I just can't seem to justify those "files". I love to get my books signed and I don't like to spend money like that, why buy an ebook, just to turn around and by the physical copy. So for now I will just stick to having the actual book with me. Both my boss and my brother in law love to bug me about getting a kindle or something of the sort and there biggest argument this that you can have many books with you when you travel. Well I don't travel at all and when I do I'm usually to busy to read, sadly. My trips usually consist of camping and I have always been under the impression that technology and camping do not mix well. Plus me and electronics don't work well together at all, that is one expensive electronic! No thank you.
My bookshelves are ever growing. I'm not sure of my book count right now, but I know I have over 100 on my shelves that are waiting to be read. I can't help it, I love Half Price Books and if I see a book that I have been interested in I just have to get it.
I also love to look on University Bookstores events page and see what authors are signing to see if I can make it to that signing.
My list of signed books is pretty good, but I always want more:
Jacqueline Carey: 3 book signing events
Kushiel's Dart, Chosen, Avatar, Scion, Justice, Mercy (all hardbacks)
Naamah's Kiss and Curse
The Sundering and Santa Olivia
Magic Bits, Burns, Strikes, Slays, Bleeds
On the Edge
Moon Called, Blood Bound, Iron Kissed, Bone Crosses, Silver Bourn
she is touring in March, so I will be there for that to get more of her books signed
Yasmine Galenorn: Been to 3 group signings
All of her Other World books and Night Myst
Richelle Mead: Been to 3 signings and each year they have gotten crazier!
Succubus Blues, On Top, Heat, Shadow
All 6 VA Books
Voices of Dragons
ARC of Fallen, Fallen, Torment
Wicked Lovely, Ink Exchange, Fragile Eternity
Lilith St. Crow
I found "Dark Days Tour" with Ellen Schreiber, Cynthia Hand, and Kimberly Derting. In truth I haven't read any of there books, but I do have the 1st 3 of the Vampire Kisses books (they are on my too read list). So it looks like I will be getting some more books and reading them. Unfortunately the signing starts a half hour before I get off in Redmond. So I will either get off an hour early or be late, we will see.
Not sure what book I will be reading next, the final book to Lesley Livingston's Wondrous Strange book is out and I want to re-read the books before I read the final. So many possible books to read, after Christmas is over I will choose my next book to read
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays
Have fun and remember Christmas isn't about the presents, but about spending time with the people who are most dear to you. I can't wait to be with my family!
