City of Glass Review

City of Glass

Summary
To save her mother's life, Clary must travel to the City of Glass, the ancestral home of the Shadowhunters -- never mind that enter-ing the city without permission is against the Law, and breaking the Law could mean death. To make things worse, she learns that Jace does not want her there, and Simon has been thrown in prison by the Shadowhunters, who are deeply suspicious of a vampire who can withstand sunlight.

As Clary uncovers more about her family's past, she finds an ally in mysterious Shadow-hunter Sebastian. With Valentine mustering the full force of his power to destroy all Shadow-hunters forever, their only chance to defeat him is to fight alongside their eternal enemies. But can Downworlders and Shadowhunters put aside their hatred to work together? While Jace realizes exactly how much he's willing to risk for Clary, can she harness her newfound powers to help save the Glass City -- whatever the cost?

Love is a mortal sin and the secrets of the past prove deadly as Clary and Jace face down Valentine in the final installment of the
New York Times bestselling trilogy The Mortal Instruments.

What I Liked
I really liked the pace of the book, there was always something happening and really never a dull moment. I found it hard to find a "good" stopping place, I really just wanted to keep reading through the whole book. A few people have stated that each book got better and better and I would have to agree with that statement. The 3rd book was the best out of the three. A lot of drama between characters, conflicts and new problems developed.
Conclusion
Initially this series was set up as a trilogy, so I did feel that the book was well summed up. I liked how everything ended with each character, but I'm glad there will be more to the series.  The ending was very dramatic and tense, I tried to not speed read through the last 1/4 of the book because I really didn't want to miss any last crucial tidbits.
Characters
Clary: I was really proud of her by the end of the book. She really stood up, took imitative and shinned brightly in a tough time.
Simon: I also like how he has developed throughout the books. I can't wait to find out how he will grow and come into his own person.

A Little Predictable
I was able to figure out what the mirror was really early on  so I wasn't surprised with the reveal near the end. I did get the brother situation figured out as well, but if it had not been spoiled to me earlier I might not have.

Would I Recommend This Book to Own
Yes: Buy the full series.

My City of Ashes Review

I will be going to Cassandra Clare's book signing and I am really excited for it

If you could be any type of creature in Cassandra Clare's books what would you be? A shadow hunter, werewolf, fae or vampire?

I would either like to be a werewolf or a shadow hunter.

Don't forget to mark your calenders for April 5th book 4 City of Fallen Angels will be released :)

I think you summed it up really well! I loved how well everything wrapped up. I hope it doesn't all go crazy in the next book (although it probably will)! Great review.

I am going to try to go to the signing here in Portland. I'm excited! I think that Holly Black is going to be there that day as well.

I noticed that you're going the the Dark Days of Summer Tour in Portland. I'm going to try and go to that one too! Super, super stoked about that one. Maybe we'll see each other there!

Wasn't there a book before this? City of Bones I think was the 1st one. I was looking for your review but you didn't have one. Did you read it?
