Top 10 Tuesdays (1)

Top 10 Tuesday
Topic: Books that have been on my shelves for the longest that I still haven't read

This meme is created by The Broke and the Bookish, anyone can participle telling about their top 10 topic items are.

1) Gregory Maguire
Wicked February 2002
I had picked up the book and read a few chapters of it, but I just wasn't really feeling it at the time time because I was in the romance genre stage at that point.

2) JRR Tolkien
The Return of the King Christmas 2002
I was comparing the movie with the book way too much, I got about half way through The Two Towers before I put it down. I still would like to reread the whole series one day.

3) Jane Lindskold
Dragon of Despair 2003
Wolf Captured 2004
Wolf Hunting 2006
I read the 1st 2 books in the series. My reading choices when from sci-fi fantasy to YA at this point and I just lost interest in reading this series.

4) Nora Roberts
Falling for Rachel/Convincing Alex 2008
My grandma gave me this book along with the Morrigan's Cross series, she doesn't care too much for fantasy books and I guess this one had a little too much for her. I did read the Morrigan's Cross series and to this day that those are the only Roberts books I have read.

5) Charlene Harris
Dead Until Dark 2008
I got this book from Borders free books when I worked there. My coworkers were talking about Sookie and kept on mentioning her name. Still haven't read the series or seen an episode.

 6) Gayle Foreman
If I Stay ARC 2008
I got from Borders, but I never read it.

7) Richelle Mead
Succubus Blues Memorial Day 2009
Succubus on Top Memorial Day 2009
After I read the VA books I could tell she also wrote in the adult genre. I have been wanting to read her other stuff for a while now, but I'm waiting for the series to be completely released and than I will read them.

8) Gena Showalter
Savor Me Slowly Summer 2009
Darkest Whisper Summer 2009
I love love love her Atlantis series and Tales of an Extraordinary Girl. My friend raves about the Men series and I know I will love it as well, the only thing holding me back is this series is huge and it is still being published. I want to get everything published by Showalter.

9) Cherry Adair
Edge of Danger December 2009
Night Secret December 2009
Night Fall December 2009
We get Cherry's books all the time at work, she will bring in all her new releases to us girls to read. She brought in a box for Christmas and these are the ones I grabbed, I still haven't figured out exactly how the series goes.

10) Karen Chance
Death's Mistress January 2010
I love this spin of series and I love the character, another series I have decided to put on hold till more books come out.

These are the books that have been on my shelves for the longest period of time.

I love the Sookie Series but since it's up to like 11 books it seems like a big commitment, but it's worth it.

If I Stay was a very emotional read so make sure you're in the right mood before picking this one up.

Haven't read that Sookie Series. I'm a die hard Twilight fan :D I have a hard time picking up other vampire reads. But I hear they are excellent. Thanks for the visit :D Happy Reading

Richelle Mead's Georgina Kincaid series is really fascinating!! I loved "Succubus Blues" and the series is finished, "Succubus Revealed" is the sixth and last book! ;)

Wicked is on my shelf too (but not my TTT). At the beginning of the year, I vowed that I would read it by the end of the year. I resigned that I wasn't going to read it, ever, but then I saw Wicked on Broadway in June and LOVED IT! It made my want to give the book a chance again. I still haven't started it, but I'm going to hold on to it just a bit longer and I WILL finally read it.

I love True Blood but was very disappointed with the first Sookie Stackhouse book. Harris's writing is very mediocre.

The best Southern Vampires book is #4 - there's a shower scene I guarantee you'll reread! ;)

Sookie books are entertaining.I have them all but have only read a few.
You have a few great reads on your list.
My pal worked at Borders & brought me so many ARCS. I never even knew then what they were or how lucky I was to have some of them! lolz.

I read Wicked a few years ago, and I just didn't love it as much as so many people seem to. I much preferred the musical version! :)

Good choices....I've read about half of those. Loved the first 4 Sookie books, If I Stay (have tissues nearby), I didn't enjoy Wicked too much, Gena's series is fun. Loved Lord of the Rings movie but I haven't read the books either and I read a Nora Roberts series that sounds similar but I can't remember if it was that one...lol She has so many!

Great choices there. I was the same way about the Lord of the Rings as well. I read them after I watched all the movies and it took a lot for me to remember that the movies deviated from the book. They are great and I hope that you enjoy them too.

As for the Nora Roberts, that is also on my shelf sitting idle. The Morrigan's Cross series I did read and it is, by far, one of her best works I think.
