Fate's Edge Review

Fate's Edge

Summary
Audrey Callahan left behind her life in the Edge, and she's determined to stay on the straight and narrow. But when her brother gets into hot water, the former thief takes on one last heist and finds herself matching wits with a jack of all trades...

Kaldar Mar-a gambler, lawyer, thief, and spy-expects his latest assignment tracking down a stolen item to be a piece of cake, until Audrey shows up. But when the item falls into the hands of a lethal criminal, Kaldar realizes that in order to finish the job, he's going to need Audrey's help.

What I Loved
Series
This is the 3rd book in The Edge series and I really love this series. Each book's POV is through a new set of couples, but you still get to hear about the previous couples through the book. You don't have to say good bye completely to the last characters and you get to meet another couple. Each book has it's own story but there is an overall storyline that arcs through the entire series connecting them all together. The book is filled with action and keeps a very fast pace filled with excitement.
Characters
I have loved all of the male and female character Ilona Andrews have created, they create awesome characters. None of their character have ever annoyed me and make me want to strangle them.
Audrey: She is a completely new character to the series, a strong woman that we have not met before. Audrey has had a hard life growing up with an terrible family that isn't supportive nor helpful. Audrey won't let herself be wooed by the charming Kaldar, but she likes to push back and makes him work hard to figure her out.
Kaldar: We got to meet him a little in book 2, but this becomes his book and it is his turn to be unraveled. Kaldar is cocky, self assured, sexy conman that can charm the pants off of any woman, except Audrey and that frustrates him to know end.
Dynamic
I love how these two interact with each other, it is this push pull sparing session with each other. They match verbal blows and they also will show off their own set of magical skills. The romance tension is there between the two characters, but the bedroom scenes are left off of the page, for the most part.

A Little Fast
The pace did seem a little rushed. The characters only had a certain amount of time to accomplish their mission, but I still felt like everything was being too rushed and a little forced at times. Even at the end I could have used a few more pages of conclusion with these characters.

Recommendation
If you like to read adult urban fantasy with a little bit of romance, you have got to read this series.

Awesome. I haven't heard of the series but now I feel like I have to start looking into it, because the way you put it makes this look great.

This was a wonderful review!
