The Vampire Voss Review

The Vampire Voss

Summary
Regency London – a dizzying whirl of balls and young ladies pursued by charming men.
But the Woodmore sisters are hunted by a more sinister breed: Lucifer's own.
Voss, also known as Viscount Dewhurst, relishes the sensual pleasures immortality affords. A member the Dracule – a cabal of powerful, secretive noblemen marked with a talisman that reveals their bartered souls – the mercenary Voss has remained carefully neutral ... until Angelica.
Angelica Woodmore possess the Sight, an ability invaluable to both sides of a looming war among the Dracule. Her very scent envelops Voss in a scarlet fog of hunger – for her body and her blood. But he is utterly unprepared for the new desire that overcomes him – to protect her.
Now Voss must battle his very nature to be with Angelica ... but this vampire never backs down from a fight.

What I Liked
Vampires
Mostly the traditional vampires. The sun and stakes to the heart will kill them, immortality, speed, strength, great sense of smell, hypnosis and of course blood drinking paired with pleasure. The different about these vampires is they made a deal with Lucifer himself during a dream, when they woke up the 1st thing they focused on became their anathema, their weakness and could become their demise. It could be anything as common as grapes, silver, rubies or something uncommon like hyssop. The deal they made with Lucifer also puts a mark on their back that connects them to him. He will sometimes visit them and direct their desires and intentions, if they don't full fill their desires the mark becomes very painful and inflamed.
Character
Angelica
The main female lead, she can see the moment of death through an object. She is a head strong female character for her time considering woman are very limited. She bears her gift or curse of her gypsy heritage with grace, she has learned how to use it to her advantage.
Story
At first I was a little confused about what was going on, the story switches POV between the 2 main characters and 2 side characters, but once I understood what type of vampires they were and some back story of the characters things really got interesting and heated up. There is lots of unfulfilled desires, wanting and denying. Voss trying to keep Angelica safe from both himself and her would be abductor.

Not So Keen On
Character
Viscount Voss Dewhurst I don't really care for male sluts. Yes I know vampires and pleasure go hand in hand, but I don't care for slutty males regardless. But he does have some redeeming qualities like his desire for Angelica, I won't spoil it but I did like him by the end of the book.

Recommendation
If you love any sort of vampire story you got to read these books. It is a trilogy that overlaps

Information
Regency Draculia trilogy
The Vampire Voss (available now)
The Vampire Dimitri (available now)

Another series called The Gardella Vampire Chronicles

There are so many different types of vampires, what are your favorite?

After reading your review I am curious. I love vampire stories. I might wait until after the release of the last book so I can read all together if I do like the first, so I don't have to wait, especially if they overlap.

Thanks for introducing me to a new series!
